Join us for a Local Author Showcase!
We’ve invited the authors of three new books to Rough Draft Bar & Books for a meet and greet event. Each author will have their own space to greet customers. Visitors to Rough Draft are encouraged to engage with the authors, learn about the books, and take home a signed copy if they wish, and of course sample some of Rough Draft’s delicious drinks and snacks!
This month’s featured authors are:
Lawrence Bush is the editor emeritus of Jewish Currents magazine and the author of numerous fiction and non-fiction books, with pieces published in MAD magazine and the New York Times, among other publications. American Torah Toons 2, a collection of visual images that riff on all fifty-four portions of the Torah (the Old Testament), is described as "fantastic fun for anyone who enjoys contemplating the giant conundrums of human existence . . . all done with a lovely mix of wit and humility.".
Mikhail Horowitz's books include Slapstick Gravitas, Big League Poets, and The Opus of Everything in Nothing Flat. His performance work is collected on a dozen CDs, including The Blues of the Birth. Ancient Baseball is an international collection of handmade collages proving that the game of baseball dates back to the Paleolithic Era. John Thorn, the Official Historian of Major League Baseball, calls it "gorgeous, erudite, laugh-out-loud funny.".
Sparrow’s many books include How to Survive the Coming Collapse of Civilization (And Other Helpful Hints); The Princeton Diary, a novel; and Trump Verse, with poetry published in the New Yorker and the Sun, among other publications. Stories is a book-length collection of Sparrow's brilliantly funny and insightful minimalist writings on a wide range of topics.
Reservations are not required to attend this meet and greet, and reserving at ticket on Eventbrite does not guarantee a seat. (Reservations are still appreciated, however; they help us stay in touch and communicate changes if needed, and they give us an idea of how many people to expect.)
