The Elephants Are Asking: Writers in the Wild

Please join the Poetry Barn for "The Elephants Are Asking: Writers in the Wild” an electrifying afternoon of ecological praise and protest, at Rough Draft. They'll present new work from David Gonzalez, Lissa Kiernan, Meghann Plunkett, Mary Newell, Ana C.H. Silva, and Matthew J. Spireng, and feature Karen Neuberg in her upstate book launch of "The Elephants are Asking" (Glass Lyre Press, 2018), "a brave, moving plea...to save the planet from the calamitous effects of climate change."

A 10-reader open-mic will follow. Admission is free, with food, drink, and books available for purchase. Donations are encouraged, and proceeds will be directed to Riverkeeper, a local organization with a mission "to protect the environmental, recreational and commercial integrity of the Hudson River and its tributaries, and safeguard the drinking water of nine million New York City and Hudson Valley residents."
