For each threat the Hudson River has faced, there’s always been a proportional force working to protect it. A cast of characters ranging from sailors to farmers to citizen-scientists have emerged as new heroes, tirelessly defending ‘America’s First River.’
Join Jon Bowermaster, noted oceans expert, award-winning artist, author, filmmaker, and adventurer, as he speaks about using cinematography to promote conservation of nature. This program will include a screening of four new films from Jon’s “Hope on the Hudson” series (hudsonriverstories.com): Source to Sea, Keeping Carbon, Growing with the Grain, A Living River.
A Q&A with Jon and others involved with the films will follow the screening. This event is free with food or drink purchase, and a portion of sales from the evening will be donated to the One Ocean Media Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising environmental awareness and literacy in the United States and internationally, to address urgent and immediate threats to our planet’s environmental and cultural future.
