Halloween Story Hour with Victoria Blain: Crooked Witch Soup

  • Rough Draft Bar & Books 82 John Street Kingston, NY, 12401 United States (map)

Join us for an outdoor children's story hour with local educator and author Victoria Blain! Children are encouraged to come in costume. The reading will take place on the Persen House lawn (at the picnic tables) across the street from Rough Draft, and the book will be for sale at the event. (Parents and kiddos who wish to get a beverage or snack before the event should arrive a few minutes early so they can do so before the reading starts!)

About the book:

A kind witch attempts to gather ingredients for a spell. Unfortunately she can't remember the entire recipe, and sets out to find her missing book of spells. That’s when the mischievous cat, mouse, and rooster hash a plan to mislead the witch by hiding her spell book so she can never cast her spell -- and so they can keep sneaking off with her soup. But what if the witch wanted to cast a spell for the good of all? If only she could complete the spell for her delicious recipe! This book is recommended for ages 3 to 7, but older and younger kids are also welcome at Story Hour (with adult supervision, of course)!
