Join us for a Local Author Showcase!

We’ve invited the authors of three new books to Rough Draft Bar & Books for a meet and greet event. Each author will have their own space to greet customers. Visitors to Rough Draft are encouraged to engage with the authors, learn about the books, and take home a signed copy if they wish, and of course sample some of Rough Draft’s delicious drinks and snacks!

This month’s featured authors are:

Howard Weiner, author of many books including his latest, Europe ‘72 Revisited: 50th Anniversary of the Grateful Dead’s Legendary Tour. Deadologist and music historian Howard Weiner explores this legendary tour with detailed show reviews, topical essays, and statistical analysis.

Frank Almquist has recently written an Images of America title, Building the Ashokan Reservoir. The Ashokan Reservoir is a visual treat for anyone using the perimeter road, dividing weir, or the new Ashokan Rail Trail. The background of Catskill Mountain peaks, which frame 12 square miles of water, create a vista that makes the visitor wonder how this all came to be.

Rebecca van Lear’s new book, How to Adjust to the Dark is a writer's frank, extended examination of the idea that falling in love and making art have to hurt to be good, and the work it takes to disentangle oneself from this notion in order to grow into who it is we want to be, what we wish to write about, and how we choose to make a life.
