Join us for a Local Author Showcase!
We’ve invited the authors of three new books to Rough Draft Bar & Books for a meet and greet event. Each author will have their own space to greet customers. Visitors to Rough Draft are encouraged to engage with the authors, learn about the books, and take home a signed copy if they wish, and of course sample some of Rough Draft’s delicious drinks and snacks!
This month’s featured authors are:
Tahereh Safavi is half-Iranian, half-Chinese, all improv kid. As a performer, she was ‘born’ at the Bristol Renaissance Faire, where she learned to make history engaging for a non-academic audience. She is a contributing author on the topics of women and brown people in the middle ages called Putting the Fact in Fantasy.
Mark Morganstern left a budding music career behind when he realized he didn’t want to wind up in a mid-level boogie band somewhere in the hinterlands of America. He parlayed a long-term literary interest into an MA in Creative Writing from the City University of New York, subsequently subbing in a high school and booking music acts in his family cafe. His book The Joppenbergh Jump is his latest book.
Lori Duffy Foster is a former crime reporter who writes fiction and nonfiction from the hills of Northern Pennsylvania, where she lives with her husband and four children. She was born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State, where a part of her heart remains. A Dead Man’s Eyes, the first in the Lisa Jamison mystery/suspense series, is her debut novel. Book two in the series, Never Broken, was released in April of 2022 and the third book in the series is due out in 2023.
