Join us for a Local Author Showcase!

We’ve invited the authors of three new books to Rough Draft Bar & Books for a meet and greet event. Each author will have their own space to greet customers. Visitors to Rough Draft are encouraged to engage with the authors, learn about the books, and take home a signed copy if they wish, and of course sample some of Rough Draft’s delicious drinks and snacks!

This month’s featured authors are:

Dan Guilfoyle is a three time USA national memory championship competitor. He is also a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). From Shrink to Think a book that offers various techniques and strategies that are needed in order to be able to remember and recall vast amounts of information much easier and faster than you ever thought possible.

Mary Lois Adshead lives right here in Uptown Kingston but grew up in Alabama. Her southern upbringing influenced her unique approach to what she writes. Her latest book is Traveling Light, a collection of stories about young women in the middle of the 20th century. Against a backdrop of changing roles, they explore the meaning of women’s liberation by taking risks and making life choices in spite of conventional wisdom, uncovering surprises and unexpected revelations.

Sally Bermanzohn has lived in Rosendale NY since 2010, and has been actively involved in the Kingston area during that time. She is part of Neetopk Keetopk ("My Friends, Your Friends" in Algonquin) and the Association of Native Americans of the Mid-Hudson Valley. She is the author of Indian Annie, A Grandmother's Story. In the 1830s, President Andrew Jackson brutally removed indigenous tribes from the Southeast. Sally learned that she had ancestors who resisted removal by hiding and marrying into white farm communities, and tried to imagine what they had gone through.

Reservations are not required to attend this meet and greet, and reserving at ticket on Eventbrite does not guarantee a seat. (Reservations are still appreciated, however; they help us stay in touch and communicate changes if needed, and they give us an idea of how many people to expect.)
