School Board Candidate Form / Meet & Greet

  • Rough Draft Bar & Books 82 John Street Kingston, NY, 12401 United States (map)

Please join us at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26th, for an informal gathering to meet candidates for the Kingston City School District Board of Education. This is a great opportunity to listen to why these members of our community believe they should be elected to hold a three-year term on the BOE. Members of the BOE serve without renumeration and it is a tough job!

There will be plenty of time to ask questions of the candidates and mingle if you’d like to have one-on-one conversations. A Spanish interpreter will be available. While all candidates have been invited, several have so far been unwilling to commit, and one candidate has openly declined because he is “done with the nonsense uptown.”  However, we strongly believe in giving an opportunity to the candidates who do want to contrast themselves with the empty chairs.

This year’s election, as well as the budget and capital project vote, will be held on May 16th at district elementary schools from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information about the capital project visit https://sites.google.com/ulsterboces.org/kcsdvote/home. If you need more information about voting, please contact KCSD District Clerk, Karen Seery, at  KSeery@kingstoncityschools.org.

This event is organized by The Committee for Equity in Education, a local, all-volunteer group. For more information, please contact us at info@kingstoncee.org.  Visit our website at:  https://www.kingstoncee.org
