Beer Hiking Book Signing, Music With JK Vanderbilt & Hudson Valley Brewery Tap Takeover

  • Rough Draft Bar & Books 82 John Street Kingston, NY, 12401 United States (map)

We have a HUGE event coming up Friday, October 13!  It's the final weekend for our parklet, and we're hoping to make it the biggest of the season.

One of our all time favorites, Hudson Valley Brewery, will be taking over all 12 of our taps!  Justifiably famous for their sour and funky stuff, HVB will showcase the full spectrum of their genius, including some finely tuned lager, hoppy goodness, barrel-aged dark stuff, and everything in between.

Playing in the parklet we'll have our stellar barista, Josh Rosenmeier, aka JK Vanderbilt -- just him, his guitar, and his extremely talented voice. We've been gently prodding Josh for months to get back on the live music horse, and we are thrilled that he's doing it right here at the shop.

And to top it all off, we'll have local authors Jason Friedman and Philip Vondra here to introduce their new book, Beer Hiking New York State. Each carefully selected hike in this book leads you through a stunning natural landscape and ends near a brewery or a brewpub where a local craft beer awaits you -- and of course, HVB is one of these featured spots!

Beers will be tapped by 6pm, with JKV kicking off music at 6:30.  And our authors will be here throughout to talk all things hiking and beer.

About the Book:

Beer Hiking New York State: The Tastiest Way to Discover the Empire State is a guide to the best urban and rural hikes and microbreweries in New York State. Each carefully selected hike leads you through a stunning natural landscape and ends near a brewery or a brewpub where a local craft beer awaits you! This full-color guidebook features the best one- to six-hour beer hikes in the Empire State. It takes you along the Hudson River, up to the grand vistas and waterfalls of the Catskills and Adirondacks, through the vibrant neighborhoods of New York City and over historic upstate railway bridges. Each trail description includes details on access, difficulty, duration, points of interest, and, at trail's end, a recommended beer, with notes on its appearance, aroma, and taste. You’ll also get an inside look at the creative and passionate craftspeople behind the brewing process.

About the Featured Authors:
